When using this chart, first determine the square footage of the area you are working with by multiplying LENGTH X WIDTH.

Second, decide the depth you want your soil or mulch. Find the depth on your chart and read across until you come to the correct square footage amount. Then read up the row to find the number of cubic yards required.
